Quickly becoming my favorite go-to guide for wild foods in the Pacific Northwest, Gregory Tilford’s ‘Edible and Medicinal Plants of the West’ is an excellent resource for the PNW forager. This book is loaded with excellent full-color images of each plant it describes, along with short, yet thorough descriptions of their edibility and medicinal uses, as well as any applicable warnings and look-alikes.
This book is also small enough that it is not cumbersome to carry into the field in a backpack for easy reference.
And, with a foreword by Michael Moore, I am confident that the information found in this guide can be trusted.
